Treatment consists of an initial evaluation and history taking to establish a working diagnosis and treatment plan. Release of information may be given at that time so contact can be made with previous treatment providers. This is included in the evaluation process as other professionals may be able to add valuable information to your particular case. Treatment options are discussed and referrals may be made to various other professionals if necessary ( including psychiatrists for medication evaluation, psychological testing, and any other service that might be of value.) If she does not think that she is the right person to help you or your child, she will let you know right away and an appropriate referral will be made. Her goal is to provide you or your child with the best care so that full functioning is achieved as quickly as possible.
Anxiety Disorders are treated using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy using Exposure and Response Prevention. Research shows that treating Anxiety Disorders with Medications alone does not prove as beneficial as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy alone or in combination with Medication.
Treatments are tailored to the specific needs of each patient. Home visits are offered, as well as therapy sessions that may need to take place outside of the office setting. It is not always possible to treat each anxiety disorder in the typical office setting.
Phone sessions are available when meeting in person is not possible. In addition, she is available to meet with or consult with other professionals involved in your case. This might include school meetings, letters for school plans, and consulting with other professionals involved in your case. Other services are available upon request. In addition, presentations at schools or other educational settings may be requested.
The average amount of time that an individual is in therapy is between 8-12 sessions. Sometimes it is less and sometimes it is more/
Session length is 50 minutes.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Patients are responsible for filing and collecting insurance payments for themselves.--Insurance ready bills will be provided to each patient at the end of each therapy session.
Mastercard, Visa, personal checks or cash are accepted.
